So I was right all along.
More elaboration on the Neuroi, at the price of Mio and Miyafuji. Minna has ordered Yoshika to be detained, even though the latter was the reason Mio was saved from the critical ordeal of the last ep’s encounter. Yoshika tries defend her beliefs on the matter, saying that the Neuroi that she met just now is “different” from the those they have fought. Of course, the others shunned this fact for the sole reason that they were fighting them as “enemies” longer than they would try to recognize what the Neuroi were really trying to say.
The whole base is scattered in chaos due to Miyafuji’s actions. Mio tries to understand why Miyafuji hesitated, while Lynne is determined to follow Yoshika because she believes her. Yoshika is determined to see for herself the truth about the Neuroi, while Minna and the others follow suit with the order of shooting Miyafuji down. This time, alliances and things tied to one another are broken. It’s going all going to boil down to what one believes, and this time, not everyone’s on the happy side. This is the military, after all.

The humanoid Neuroi returns, telling Yoshika to follow it inside the Neuroi hive. It then relayed events in the past: On how the Neuroi was found as a core fragment, on how the military is currently and constantly experimenting on them, on how they’re trying to make contact to anybody for an understanding of the current situation. When this was concluded, and Yoshika has nearly understood everything, something came up.
“You disappoint me yet again, Starscream.”
A jet with Neuroi tech. Not bad, not good either. It’s probably the thing the humanoid Neuroi was trying to show Miyafuji. It’s got Neuroi panels to shoot lasers, and it might have a battery that is powered by a core (since the core was OUTSIDE the robot, if we’re to base it on what the humanoid Neuroi showed). As expected, Trevor Maloney was behind this, probably to silence anybody who tries to get on his way. Mio was helpless in her current condition, and now everyone is questioning on whether Minna is really a military bitch (I can’t say dog, female dogs are called BITCHES, nuff said) for betraying her own actions with orders from her superiors.
I smell world domination, betrayal, lasers, and guns. Lots of them.
Anyways, another nice ep. Though there weren’t any proper funerals involved (Mio’s survival trying to contradict the probability of casualties), but the elaboration of allegiances and the true nature of the Neuroi is interesting enough (I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllyyyyyyyyy smell Thunderforce V: Perfect System). The war was all a farce, and the military was playing the cards from behind the scenes. The Neuroi were only trying to defend their reformed existence, while miliitary greed tried to eleminate all of them and take everything it needed. Fanservice tried to relieve some tension, but failed. Trevor is one fucking bastard I say. I need to jam fifty grams of C4 on his mouth and go suicide gung-ho with him.
I’ll be happy in Heaven if I were to take down this motherfucker.
And, as the preview states, it seems that with the current conspiracies and conflicts, the 501st is going to get disbanded, while the Neuroi will advance towards the front lines. No more flying mecha-musume? More Starscream transforming ripoffs? Great. I think I’ll have to add some HAETPOINTS on this show before it even ends.
You know that the Strike Witches are gonna be back up in the air saving the day at least 15 minutes into the next episode.
It’s also likely that Mio and Perrine will “go rogue.”
But with the 501st in disarray, I can’t say. Minna may have betrayed everyone, military may have hostages against the Witches, stray Neuroi may have gone berserk, and the squadron may most likely be disbanded.
But yeah, you may be right. I’m still waiting for Mio to give the keepsake sword to Yoshika, since she was depicted once with it. And yes, Perinne and Mio may “go rogue” by the next ep, considering Trevor’s shit.
And I still want Perinne withc the rapier. WHERE IS MYFUCKING PERINNE WITH A RAPIER?!
