Strike Witches 11: To The Sky

Saturday was fully booked, and I wasn’t even given time to write ANYTHING. Ask IRC people about the situation. I’m pretty much pressed in time even though it’s supposed to be a day off.

But still, fucking bastard got his karma right after his shit. I’m so grateful for this.

So basically, my first hunch was wrong. Minna wasn’t an outright bitch after all, and is just following orders. On the other hand, the other hunch about the 501st getting disbanded is unfortunately correct. Everyone  was forced to return to their homes, while the 1st Special Assault Unit, a.k.a. Warlock, takes over the Neuroi frontlines.

Out of all the Witches, Miyafuji is the most affected. Her disobeying orders is already grave enough. What more if she was the reason why the 501st got disbanded? That’s one big burden to carry on your conscience. This is where Minna breaks her cold demeanor (at long last) and starts to act like the old good Minna everyone wants. Too bad, it’s the second to the last ep already.

But still, I so love this Minna.

But get this: Not all the Witches are convinced to go home. Heck, ALMOST EVERYONE isn’t. The sudden change in the chain of command is already fishy enough. And the details about it ain’t that clear either. To sum it up, everyone’s itching to return to base and see what’s going on. It’s not like they can give away their base of operations that easily, anyway.

Their span of interest widens when the 1st Unit sends its only Warlock unit to Gallia to exterminate the Neuroi Hive there. At first, the results were as expected. But when the Warlock gained some kind of “sentience”, it started to act on its own, activating its own function systems, and even controlling Neuroi to a suicidal extent. The little fuckers forgot that every Neuroi, no matter the size or function, is “sentient” as long as it has a core functioning for itself. And it seems that this one is hell-bent for something.

So expected… Maloney should’ve shat bricks.

Then it went rogue and attacked Akagi, where Yoshika, Mio and Perinne are. It seems that it’s attacking to get Yoshika’s attention. And with Mio’s hidden Striker Unit (it’s under the wheelchair, that’s why Mio has her blanket covering her lower body), it adds up to the fact that the Warlock wants Miyafuji to fly. But that’s just a presumption. It may be that the Warlock is trying to reunite the 501st by means of force. And so far, it’s doing it far well enough. TheBigN’s prediction about Perinne, Miyafuji, and Mio going rogue is well on the mark. But it seems it went off further than expected. ^5 for you.

Last episode next week! Strike Witches Finale, GO!

Also, Erica’s “Sexy Gal” pose is a crime, and a foul too.
