You might want to ask why I’m suddenly blogging Negima. Well, not that I’m an avid follower of the series, but hey, Akamatsu’s trying to outdo himself, let alone have a running manga series of more than 14 chapters (his maximum offset for Love Hina). And of course, a cute 10-year old teacher is just fun to see with all the parodies and DBZ-ish implications assorted everywhere he goes.

Yue Awakens!

Chapter 213 gave Yue a big booster-upper in terms of uber kewlness, and at the same time disappointed a majority of her fans for a pretty crappy reason of an excuse for memory loss. I mean, yeah, Yue suddenly was able to use her Pactio card while going against a Griffin Dragon. That’s a big thing considering her artifact can somehow tap (I can’t say provide or hack) into databases of information so she can detect weaknesses, devise a good plan, and give sufficient battle knowledge and power to pull a feat off(Chiu, you just failed to compare), but the explanation to how she got her ausum powars back DID NOT SUFFICIENTLY JUSTIFY how she regained it.

That’s so NOT a Dragon…

Of course, knowing oneself goes piece by piece, but Yue failed by successfully declaring her real name after activating her Pactio on chapter 212 (which everyone clearly knows what happens next is Yue regaining her memories) then not being able to remember anything aside from that. It’s stupid logic, and a successful cliffhanger at that, but Yue fans (subliminally including myself) did not like it one bit. If you were to ask me about regained memories after a good shock, this failed royally, and I, or even anybody else, wouldn’t be happy at a cliffhanger so believable it was crinimal. YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG, AKAMATSU.

Anyways, skipping forward, there’s something about Asuna that’s about to be discovered upon reaching Ostia. Most probable is that Ostia is the place where Asuna came and was rescued from, which possibly meant that Nagi and the Crimson Wing being involved is highly imminent with a possible hint to either Negi’s or Asuna’s past (if past chapters serve me correctly). Moreover, overall concern is still at utmost priority since there are still 3-4 members that are not accounted for (some of them being Haruna, Chamo and Anya).

Okay, sightseeing’s over. Get a move on. You’re not the only one suffering from memory loss at the moment.
