With some of the shows already starting, I guess it’s about time for me to make my official Anticipated Fall Anime List. II might be pressed in time, but with moe overflow underway, I guess I wouldn’t mind. As for show priority, I guess I can just label it as BLUE for low, GREEN for moderate, and RED for high.
Let’s begin the countdown, then!
1.To Aru Majutsu no Index
Number of episodes:
Website: http://project-index.net/
Japanese Air Date: October 4
Animation Company: J.C Staff
Seiyuu: Shizuka Ito, Rina Satou, Yuka Iguchi
Having anticipated the novels and manga (thank you Hoshinohate), I figured out following the anime for the fun of it. The story is interesting enough. You never get magic, religion, and science all working at the same time. Plus, the cast ain’t half-bad. Back seiyuus taking lead roles, and being backed up by hotshots? Not bad. Yuka Iguchi should be thankful enough that she’ll be able to set a new trend in tsundereloli moe.
Code: RED
2. Toradora!
Number of episodes: ?
Website: http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/toradora/
Japanese Air Date: October 2
Animation Company: J.C Staff
Seiyuu: Junji Majima, Rie Kugimiya, Eri Kitamura, Yui Horie, Hirofumi Nojima
Second honors go to Toradora! The Kugyuu-Hocchan pair returns, although hey, I think… well.. their voices are a bit off. Especially Kugyuu, with the yakuza-ishy voicing on Taiga’s part. But hey, it’s a fine variation to her usual tsundereloli tone, so I guess this kind of change is acceptable. Taiga being a tomboyish tsundereloli is fine too. Oh, and did you catch a glimpse of her Taiga variation of URUSAIURUSAIURUSAI?
Also, what’s this? J.C. Staff doing a lot of from-the-novel stuff! So much for a company who can’t even deliver it!
Code: RED
3. Akane Iro Ni Somaru Saka
Number of episodes: ?
Website: http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/akasaka/
Japanese Air Date: October 3
Animation Company: TNK
Seiyuu: Rie Kugimiya, Aya Hirano, Rikiya Koyama, Akira Ishida, Rie Tanaka
Seiyuu overload? On your non-H eroge adaptation? Why not! The cast is just stunningly amazing! Aya-Kugyuu combo is also interesting enough to see. The other supporting characters are also good seiyuus, making this a viable pick. Though I can’t say much until I’ve played the game (which is voiced, but not by the anime cast, so you can’t really expect Kugyuu moaning in ecstasy, you tsunderelolicon bastard).
Polite Kugyuu is moe Kugyuu. It is fine too.
Code: RED
4. Kemeko DX
Number of episodes: ?
Website: http://kemeko.jp/
Japanese Air Date: October 4-6(?)
Animation Company: Hal Film Maker
Seiyuu: Chiwa Saito, Eri Kitamura, Rie Kugimiya, Ayako Kawasumi
Third Kugyuu series. Seems that Kugyuu is everywhere. Not surprising. She’s as bankable as a tsundereloli. Too bad she didn’t get Kemeko for the lead role. But anyways, seiyuu talk aside. I’ve been reading this since it grazed the net since… hmmm.. three or four years ago? This is about a boy… and a robot that looks like a… well… how do I say this… ah, here we go: an obese fat lady made of cholesterol, sagging boobs, and horrible flabs of whatevermaterialthatthingismadeof. But wait till you see the VA-VA-VOOM pilot. Plot may be insane as the characters, but let’s see how it fares compared to its manga counterpart.
Code: GREEN
5. Kannagi
Number of episodes:
Website: http://www.nagisama-fc.com/anime/index.html
Japanese Air Date: October 4
Animation Company: A-1 Pictures Inc. (Birdy the Mighty Decode, Persona ~Trinity Soul~)
Seiyuu: Kana Hanazawa, Haruka Tomatsu, Mai Nakahara, Hiro Shimono
I never get enough of the usual, classic boy-meets-supernatural-girl storylines, and that’s since Ah! My Goddess!, which may span for millennia before you were born. Harem boy seiyuu Hiro Shimono is back, and the set of femmes are also voiced by fairly good seiyuus. As for the plot, well, carving something out of a trunk of a sacred tree may get you cursed, but if it’s a babe we’re talking about, you might not even think of hesitating. I’ll see how this turns out.
Code: GREEN
6. Kyo No Go No Ni
Number of episodes: ?
Website: http://www.avexmovie.jp/lineup/5-2/
Japanese Air Date: October 5
Animation Company: XEBEC
Seiyuu: Kobayashi Yu, Shimoda Asami, Takagaki Ayahi
I hear a lot of people loathe this show just because it shoves little adolescent-y kids the world of adults way too early. Okay, I get the point, OVA sucks because of that. That doesn’t mean this is not good for a try. I mean, the story this time around may be good to justify another chance to graze the airwaves. But then again, there’s the LOLICON civilization to rejoice for possible underage sex.
So it’s interesting, but not a priority, so…
Code: BLUE
7. Macademi Wasshoi!
Number of episodes: ?
Website: http://www.macademi.tv/
Japanese Air Date: October 5
Animation Company: ZEXCS
Seiyuu: Ayako Kawasumi, Kobayashi Yu, Rina Satou
Another interestingly insane series, though it does not appeal more than the fanservice it might, or will serve. And mind you, THEY’RE NOT FUCKING LOLIS! They’re just super-deformed. Unless there’s a viable plot or story, this might get categorized to something as low as Kanokon.
Code: BLUE
8. Chaos:Head
Number of episodes:
Website: http://www.chaoshead.jp/
Japanese Air Date: October
Animation Company: Madhouse (Death Note, Saiunkoku Monogatari)
Seiyuu: Eri Kitamura, Hiroyuki Yoshino
Possible top priority candidate, since I’ve yet to know and see the nature of the series. But if it involves blood, amputation, killing, and more blood, I’ll take it. Kind of a Kinoko Nasu-ish type of series, so I’ll dig.
Code: UNKNOWN
Well, we’re yet to see how these series fare, so I might drop some, and add some. Nevertheless, I can say that this season ain’t half bad after all.
Thanks to Extrange of THAT for the link on some info and pics.

Chaos;head. <3
Not watching Hyakko I see, or Y-Quartet.
Hyakko ain’t really that interesting. If it’s as insane as Lucky Star, then I must reconsider. However, even if Aya got two hotshot seiyuus to back her up on a way-too-normal slice-of-life kind of slapstick comedy for a school life anime, then convincing me would be proper.
Watching the first ep was like… meh, so yeah…
About C;H, yes, possible WINNAGE material.
Ef ~tale of melodies~ and Chaos;Head are my #1 titles.
The rest is sort of a tie between Toradora!, Kannagi and others…..though I bet those two will be reach #1 for me.
Maybe I will try Index. I like the manga.
Speaking of which, when’s Chaos;Head again?
