Okay, I just have to say I’m certainly having mixed thoughts for this series. This just have to be given emphasis on the start since I might make any sense whatsoever on the rest of the entry. Well, the series itself didn’t make any sense BEFORE it was made into an anime, so what gives?
We follow the story of Kobayashi Sanpeita, a high-school student with an ordinary life. Ten years ago, he made a promise to a certain girl he liked. The girl said that she wanted to be Sanpeita’s bride, and that she wanted for them to fulfill the promise by the time they meet again. Kinda typical, no? Well, thing is, it’s not what you think it is.
One day, Sanpeita woke up only to find his room invaded with numerous metallic machines wreaking havoc at every nook and cranny. Scrap metal and bullets fly about, and a certain robot remains standing… with a wedding getup…
Anybody would prefer Sousuke’s Fumoffu outfit over this!
“Okay, what the fuck… ” is what you might say, but I’m expecting that otherwise. Quite an introduction, which I can say goes parallel to its manga counterpart. Well, for the most part, I’m impressed on how canon the first ep went. Looks like them people didn’t hesitate to shed blood on the matter just to set this one straight.
Yes, there is blood, and there will be more.
BOOM BOOM MADNESS in your Happy Meal guys! Random shit litters here and there, and the only clue you’ll get is that Mishima Industries (or specifically, that building with the giant LCD screen with a big M on it) wants Kemeko, the green-haired robot that claims to be Sanpeita’s wife. And you thought mecha-musume can’t get any worse? Well, the human faction is getting hits as well. Just take a look a those GIGANTIC HIPS OF DEATH! It’s as if the proportion’s bad enough already for the robot, and now this?!
What monster hips you have!
Izumi Makimura. She’s Sanpeita’s close friend, who comes to his house early to wake him up so they can go to school together. It’s obvious already that she’s got some affection for Sanpeita, but this gets cut off by the appearance of a GIGANTIC RICE COOKER WITH A STEAMED HAND INSIDE IT. Okay, what the fuck? This is Japan’s concept of a restraining/containment device?! And what’s next? HUMAN BROILERS?! No wonder Izumi fainted due to PHAIL!
HOLYSHIAT!
Kemeko saves them, but then goes haywire or something, ejecting a female which resembles someone from Sanpeita’s memories. In the manga, she’s only referred to as “M.M.” though the initials are pretty much going to be revealed later on (I stopped following the manga after some PC nitpicking which deleted the chaps I had, though I plan to recollect them for the show’s sake if this fares well). Sanpeita then brings them to the infirmary after being unable to think straight due to the sudden appearance of his first love. Well, that’s to be expect. Random shit happens anywhere on this series.
Evoluition of a long lost love (Sanpeita version)
M.M wakes up at the infirmary, only to knock people down with anesthetic bullets (including poor Izumi). She then finds Kemeko and Sanpeita, when a sudden attack from the defeated rice cooker hand robot ensues. Again, Kemeko saves the day, all the while leaving everyone stupidly spaced out and thanking God for saving them.
Okay, I’m not going to blame myself for picking this series up. The art was nice on the manga version, and that alone engrossed me into reading it. Nevertheless, the seiyuu cast is convincing enough. The Kemeko-M.M. duo is voiced by Sato Chiwa (as Kemeko) and Tomatsu Haruka (as M.M.). But the real reason: Kugyuu as Misaki Hayakawa. God, Hayakawa’s acting like a dirty slut when she’s having premonitions of some sort. Kinda erotic, but senselessly amusing. Kugyuu’s voicing fits her perfectly even though she’s a supporting character. Kinda fitting to Yue Ayase‘s voice rendition by Natsuko Kuwatani.
Perfect indirect Kugyuu crotchshot! Thank you, Kemeko DX!
Imouto ep on preview! And Sanpeita tries to confirm M.M.’s true identity! This should be interesting enough, though I really need more motivation in keeping up with such a plotless series… Bleagh…

I love this show!
