Akane Iro Ni Somaru Saka 2: The Scarlet Approach

Nice ep, I say. Aside from the basic, farfetched-but-true tidbits coming from random points, the show mainly focused on how Katagiri Yuuhi tries to blend into the Nagase household.

Yukata Yuuhi is fine, too.

The usual fight ensues between Junichi and Yuuhi, with Minanoha-neesama (YES! IT’S A NANOHA CLONE!) being always at the neutral corner, though sometimes she would side on Yuuhi. His father tried to brief him regarding the visitor, but came in too late since Yuuhi already arrived. The two siblings then try to make some room for Yuuhi, only to be declined by the person herself. Well, too much for trying to sleep in the sofa, since that works for me. She didn’t get to sleep in the end, anyway.

Striped longsocks are fine, too.

After school, Minato finds Yuuhi trying to figure out where to go. Seems to be lost. Minato then accompanies Yuuhi, but remembers to buy groceries at a nearby supermarket. Yuuhi has never been to a supermarket before. Seeing different kinds of condiments and goods carefully lined up is like a new thing to her. She got to pick ingredients, she knew how to check good produce, and she knew that supermarket cards can do wonders (it does for me, since discounts and promo points save me a lot of money).

She was also fascinated with the Nagase family kitchen. She tinkered almost everything in it with childish endeavor. Rice cookers? Ovens? Stoves? If she was careless enough she might make the whole place catch on fire or explode! Good thing that only happens on slapstick comedy anime.

Am I the only one getting dirty thoughts of BOOBGROPE in this picture?

Now, this is where the usual charm of an ojousama shines. Being secluded into a world where everything goes at whim, she suddenly finds how much she still doesn’t know about the world and its works when she steps outside the mansion borders. With a sudden shift from the good life to a normal life, Yuuhi finds out a lot of things, which brings out a bit of moe in her straightforward personality when she tries to explore how some things work. How do you cook rice in this “pot”? How do you dry your hair using this “gun”? How can you tell a good or bad potato just by looking at them? Aren’t those just the same? And what does “normal curry” taste like? Slowly, she learns these things with Minanoha-neesama.

I think this is a bonding episode between the two household members, since Junichi doesn’t really have that much involvement (okay, he does, but just 45% of it) this time around. And he got the classic headbutt, too. But damn. He’s good. To be able to tell bust size by the mere feeling of them on your arms is incredible. Now we know Yuuhi has 75cm!

さすがジェノウキラー!

About the Nagase parents… well… are they agents or what? I mean, it kinda feels like Indiana Jones-ishy, but what the heck. Though I have interest in artifacts and such, having such parents would have to be a pain in the ass. That leaves Minanoha-neesama telling Yuuhi that the only good person she can rely on is Junichi. But that doesn’t mean she hates her parents, though.

It’s rare to see wavy ahoges. You don’t see them that often anywhere.

Ahoge overload and scaredy-cats by next ep! Man, this is getting interesting by the next episode! Bet your HAADO GEI teacher can’t save you now, eh? Too bad.
