Toradora! 4: That Moment’s Expression

This is a change of pace. Now we get a sudden, opposite shift of behavior from Taiga on this ep. She drastically went from the punky bitch to something sort of a sweet little girl going ga-ga over a guy. And her variant seems to be that of the more scary side, too. Kitamura would be in big trouble if this story went off with the twist.

Seriously, what’s this?

Okay, so Taiga’s been stealing snapshots of Yusaku from all angles possible. But somehow, her shutter skills aren’t leveled up properly, she can’t get a good shot straight. Well, she ain’t Aya Shameimaru, for fuck’s sake, but I know an ordinary person who can do better: Takasu Ryuji. At least he can do better than taking shots at speeds of Mach 1, which we all know the tengu who can. And so Ryuji offers assistance, and possible masochistic slavery of taking photos, to Taiga, AGAIN.

T-t-take it! TAKE IT! TAKE IT!

From here on, there’s going to be a big mistake. Something that would make Kurogane and others rickroll because the character rendition was way too similar, or maybe they just did this due to lack of apparent creativity. It seems that people have mixed up two characters since they look like. Well, ALMOST.

The one that was shown on this episode is Kano Sumire, student council president at Ryuji and Taiga’s school. Those who bit the bait presumed she was Kawashima Ami, which surprised me a bit. I mean, Kurogane even got it wrong! The OP stated the difference cleanly enough, even though I was nearly deceived myself till I got the clear answer from this episode. The difference is that Sumire’s blue hair is darker in hue, whereas Ami’s hair has a brighter tinge. But what the heck, the color difference isn’t that far enough, so it still can be easily mistaken for something of the sort. She didn’t get an ample introduction though, and Taiga sported the same RAEG towards her anyways. Too bad Yusaku came in and spooked the shenanigans out of her.

The battle of the bitches…?

Then the bento incident. Taiga was all mushy about what happened earlier that she nearly spilled the beans about Ryuji making it. Add in the atmosphere of having both Minori and Yusaku for lunch and you’ll get a very awkward situation. No, it’s not dangerous. If it was then Minori and Yusaku would’ve done the oh-she-likes-him-and-he-likes-her talk again, much to Taiga’s RAEG. A narrow escape presented itself when the softball captain called in for Minori and Yusaku.

And then more shutter talk. If Taiga’s drool was made of acid, Ryuji would’ve lost an arm. She’s so deredere about Kitamura playing softball that she can’t even control herself before and after the sequence. But then her pathetic picture-taking endeavor shatters into pieces when she can’t even find a good picture to laminate. Of course, this pisses her off, and Ryuji was left to ponder what the hell’s happening to her again. But hey, picture-wise, lucky guy Takasu may have some kind of genie to get what he wished the next day.

Not to mention sticky pudding on provocative places, too.

Ryuji’s kind of a dolt. He didn’t figure out what was going on between Kitamura and Taiga before, even when he already heard hints about it on Taiga’s confession ep. He also was an idiot to think that not giving an answer for a peculiar type of confession, or person, is appropriate. But I guess that’s Taiga’s fault too. She fell in love way too late before Kitamura could even rebound back. Now he’s got a woman of his own to chase, and she can do about it is RAEG. Ryuji can just cry himself to bed for being such a slave.

And still, I don’t get Inko-chan… and Takasu Dirt Busters…
