Looks like the releases really come in quick for Negima. However, LeGaCy/Mangaddicted broke news that they’ll be prioritizing more on other releases so Negima may be stalled for now. What gives? There’s Aquastar to fill in, and moreover, I don’t need them scanlations since I mostly read the raws! Unfortunately, the raws for chapter 214 didn’t come up as quick in torrents as it would on scanlated versions. Sucks for that.

Chapter starts with Asuna, Kaede, Setsuna, and Konoka finally arriving at Ostia via a hitchhike on one of the flying ships. As soon as they set foot on Ostia, they immediately felt the brunt of the “End of War Anniversary Festival”. It was pretty much the same as the Mahora Festival, and they didn’t fail to notice as well. That aside, they also readied themselves for any possible threats, since they’re wanted criminals and all, but all there is for now is to enjoy the festival, and that they did.

Asuna’s group arrives in Ostia!

They quickly got informed about Negi’s company, as the arena banners are all over the place. Of course, as others enjoyed the festival, Asuna patrolled on key locations around Ostia. Slowly, somehow, her sealed memories get into her for a split second at every location she visits. It’s like everything in Ostia is very… familiar, in a sense. Then she stumbles at a strange, quiet place. A place in a past that is still unclear to her.

Asuna’s past soon to be revealed…?

Asuna can’t believe she’s all to familiar with the places, all the more that she knew them like a well-read book. However this place gives the most nostalgic feeling, especially when someone called onto her, as if he were a close acquaintance.

FLASHBACK! Or more like the requested surge of Nagi appearances from fanbitches…

Again, Asuna was taken aback, especially with Nagi’s sudden appearance. Asuna tries to reach out to him, only to be pulled back fast into reality (yeah, admit it, Asuna, you’re a Nagi fanbitch deep inside too). But what she tried to get gave her something else: Negi Springfield, in the flesh!

Why was I having the slightest feeling I was actually expecting that…

Reunited at last!

Asuna was too glad that Negi’s back, she couldn’t break her glomp on him! Well, that’s good, in a sense that we’re having too much divided time between the other lost members of Negi’s class, with Asuna having the least, compared to Yue and Chisame, who had chapter-long appearances. And so all is well again, with Asuna worrying again if Negi went too far with his adventures and wallowings in self-pity, but enough of that.

Asuna then proceeds to ask Negi about his father, and Negi says it’s a long story to tell, so we don’t know if he’s to tell after the Old World escapade or after some other time in it. But here’s an extra: instead of answering Asuna’s question about his past, Negi returns it to her, asking her if she’s been having strange dreams of hallucinations about Ostia being all too familiar to her. And of course, Asuna isn’t given the time to answer since the chapter ends there…

Again, another cliffhanger, I say. Negi’s and Asuna’s poast have been delayed too long since the Mahora festival incident that people are getting tired of waiting for it to be revealed. Well, it may paralyze the continuity of the manga series if it were to be revealed too quickly, but hey, hasn’t it been delayed too long like how Naru finally gives in to Keitaro after 12 volumes of Love Hina? THAT’S OVERKILL! But then again, that’s Akamatsu we’re talking about, so what gives?
