Valentine’s Day Special: A Time When I Can Say I’m In Love With Myself

The idea came into me before Valentine’s Day. “Who’s going to be your fictional valentine, and what kind of sweet would you expect from her?” Since I was afraid to ask anybody who’s not into fictional valentines, or anybody who doesn’t like sweets and desserts like I do, I asked 2DT first (which he replied quickly with a nice little post here).

… Yes?

As for me, you guys know who’s she’s gonna be, right? Yes, that’s right. She’s Hakurei Reimu from Touhou.

Unlike 2DT, I didn’t focus much on who my ideal girl is in terms of what I want or what the other side wants from me. I simply compared our similarities, our likes and dislikes, and our compatibility with each other as a couple, regardless of differences like age or gender. What I want and what she wants from me can come after that. We could drink tea for hours on end, lie down and waste time, read magazines, yawn together in sync, fight because of money, etc. We’re both living the take-it-easy, lazy and poor kind of lifestyle, and the ways we can manage life together are endless.

As for what I’m expecting from her, it would have to be this:

Cheap 5-yen chocolates (pictures from Giant Jeans Parlor Candy Friday archive)

Yup. 5-yen chocolates. It never fails. She’ll come in flying, blush while getting something from the right pocket of her skirt, then lash her right hand at me and my face while saying “Here, take it. Just take it.” Then she flies away, leaving me with a contorted face, trying to smile, blush and frown, all at the same time.

I’d like to know everyone’s opinion about this idea, so please, if you have posts about it, do continue!

  • Copied from 2DT’s post:

“Nobue Itoh, who would have work that night, leaving me a little sad that we couldn’t hang out, but she would pass by me on her way riding her motorbike, stop, toss me a crunch bar and say ‘happy Valentine’s day’ – we’d have just enough time to pass a cool smile between us before she rocketed down the street, and I watched after her, completely and utterly infatuated.

I imagine I would then have to go home and masturbate furiously >.>”

  • I was going to just respond here but I think I too will get a post out of this. Well, I already thought it out so much…

    • Link me up if you’re done! I want to see it, especially the sweet! It should be delicious, considering it’s your waifu.

Somehow, I smell a White Day post coming too…

  • You know, call me silly, but I wasn’t anticipating that you’d pick Reimu. I mean, I didn’t think you’d pick somebody else, but it just didn’t… click. Seeing your banner and the fact that Reimu’s in practically every entry of yours. You know? Yes, quite silly.

I’m gonna go out now and look for some five yen chocolates. Thanks; this was fun. Happy Valentine’s Day.

    • Because she’s from another world parallel to ours? Because she flies and has abilities? Nononono, not because of those. I actually picked her not because of her status or abilities but because of her lifestyle, way of life, and attitude towards it. We’re veeeeery similar to that, and that compatibility I think is enough to justify my choice. It’s not really being silly, I think. It’s just weighing the possibilities, plus preferences. Then again, I may be wrong on that part.

      Happy Valentines.

Sounds fun, though it would seem hard for others to get close to you. Of course, that wouldn’t be the point here.

        • It’s kind of like the point on why I chose her. Of course, we’re free to change our ways, but the fact that we have that initial compatibility should be enough to sustain the relationship.

  • Happy fashionably late Valentines, mmf!
You’ve reminded me of a certain aspect of it – why DO I think I’d be compatible with Meiling? When I think about it, we’re not similar at all. But I’m one of those that believe in opposite personalities being more compatible than similar ones. We’d be like a manzai pair, I’d be her straight man. And of course, we would both screw up once in while.
You know what? Since the time’s right I will indulge by writing a post. Give me a few days to crank out my characteristically meaningless 3000 word essay.
