Michaelonimachimachronism: Kung Fu

So, is this another WHAT?! talk again?

Here goes part two of the Mike-Shance salvo. Again, this is for teh lulz, for the mere clashing of opinions without changing influence of the general people. If you find yourself questioning your state of belief just because you read this, GO TO FUCKING HELL.

Mike: some places in Africa have good Churches
Mike: very small communities, I guess
Shance: oh…
Shance: you see, that’s an exemplification in itself already
Shance: see Job, he’s in poverty, and yet found God in it
Shance: now see Africans, they’re in poverty, and yet found God in it
Shance: now, you see where this is going, no?
Mike: mmm
Shance: it would just all boil down to money
Shance: and I can’t believe the Church is dabbling in this
Shance: primarily because other people are meddling with its affairs
Shance: first would be the government
Shance: second would be the global populace, since this is a global religion
Mike: binasa mo na ba post ko?
Mike: wala lang
Shance: I did
Mike: so you saw, right?
Shance: I didn’t like it, but I linked it
Mike: WAIT
Mike: why didn’t you like it?
Shance: …
Mike: but those were the facts I stated
Mike: did you hate the writing, the what?
Shance: look, why would a person believe in a single “Superior Entity”?
Shance: can you answer that?
Mike: ah, so you don’t believe in God?
Shance: no, it’s not that I don’t
Shance: I just need to know how he became
Shance: I need to question God himself that, though that’s impossible
Shance: because, if he became, we became
Shance: but where is he?
Mike: dear, faith begins where reason ends, supposedly
Shance: rationality defies ideals?
Shance: ethics defy virtues?
Shance: this would only cloud the issue more, and that’s the only way religion is going
Shance: not just Christianity in general
Mike: how can ethics defy virtues?
Shance: ethics are rules set by the general populace, virtues are personal positive preferences and attitudes of a certain person or a whole
Shance: what if ethics say it’s bad to help people?
Shance: would you defy the virtue that’s natural for you to help people?
Mike: Levinas would disagree with you
Mike: Where did your definitions come from, anyway
Shance: I’m just pointing a possibility
Shance: but like you said, I’m just rationalizing things
Shance: Okay, I’ll point out Buddhism for the Chinese
Shance: why would monks practice brutal Kung Fu for the sake of religion?
Shance: to embody the sayings of Buddha through the power of their punches and kicks?
Shance: to exemplify torture of oneself for the ascension of the mind?
Shance: see, it’s hard to point a solid finger on religion
Shance: yet we believe in it because we somehow “benefit” from it
Shance: may not be physical, but it does
Mike: they practice Kung Fu because it promotes balance in their body
Mike: you watch too much tv
Shance: oh, the Yin-Yang-Makes-Chi talk?
Mike: yeah
Shance: and no, if you take a look at Wikipedia’s meaning, you’ll see what it states
Mike: they don’t aim for violence
Mike: Kung Fu (or gung fu) alludes to any individual accomplishment or cultivated skill obtained by long and hard work
Mike: individual accomplishment of balance
Shance: Kung Fu is mainly to preserve singularity, yeah
Mike: so
Mike: ?
Shance: where does “the others” come in?
Mike: the others?
Mike: You were the one talking about the others
Mike: I wasn’t.
Shance: that’s Buddhism for you
Shance: religion is all for superficial benefit
Shance: I don’t get balance from Kung Fu
Shance: only aching ligaments and muscles
Shance: you do know I did Kung Fu
Shance: so, does Buddhism apply to me? no, right?
Shance: how did I benefit?
Shance: what did I get?
Shance: why did I do Kung Fu in the first place?
Shance: for religion? for self-preservation? to find myself?
Shance: that’s a question I should ask myself, but it may apply to you if you want to think about it
Mike: Buddhism comes before Kung Fu
Mike: you can believe in Kung Fu without believing in Buddhism
Shance: but it does show some points where Buddhism should come in
Mike: that’s only your perspective
Shance: but I’m not the only one who might think about it
Mike: that doesn’t change the fact that Kung Fu and Buddhism are exclusive of one another
Shance: they may, they may not
Shance: like you said, it’s about perspective
Mike: you don’t make sense!
Shance: I told you this would just cloud the issue
Mike: YOU’RE CLOUDING THE ISSUE!
Shance: was I?
Mike: yes
Shance: up to you to think about that
Mike: You add a lot of superficial and superfluous things.
Shance: isn’t religion all about the superficial and the superfluous?
Shance: I’m just summing them up
Mike: um, no
Mike: for you, for you
Shance: hahaha
Shance: I felt like doing a comedy skit
