Strike Witches 1: Magical Girl

Yay! GONZO stuff! Another reason for people to throw crap at them!

Pardon for the late post on this one. I was just having second thoughts (really, even though I have been served a few loli pantsu spoiler pics IN MY FACE) on whether I should follow this series or not, depending on how a lot of people spite and throw haetstuff on GONZO for this. Now, I’m not one of them, that’s why I’m thinking. Then again, I don’t think that much, so what the heck.

So, I’m taking this up, and that’s final. Well, not really. More like I’m much more favoring this than Koihime Musou when it comes to storyline. But if we talk about fanservice, Koihime Musou beats this by a milimeter, that’s a certified given.

Sorry, I can’t see the laser, can you move your butt to the right for a sec?

What’s in store anyway? Episode 1 suddenly shoved me a dogfight right after the introduction of the enemies, called “Neuroi”, who started to invade this miserable planet and reduce it to rubble while balancing nature by subtracting a fraction of the human populace. So, we have a magic specialist called “Witch” that grows kemonomimi when using magic, and a device called “Strike Unit”, which looks like ripoffs of World War planes that use magic fed by Witches so they can be used for battle. This idea is actually already passe since mecha musume limbs were already around way before the universe was born. So said Witch uses a Strike Unit to defend Earth against invading Neuroi. Okay………………… let’s leave it at that.

So, there’s no lower wear for girls. WHAT? NO LOWER WEAR? WHAT THE SHIT IS THIS FUCK?!

The real deal starts with Minafuji Yoshika, an “average” Witch with “average performance” overall. However, when emotions rise, results render something… “a bit off the mark”. Her specialty is cooking, not that I care about it. After discovering a letter sent to her by her “deceased” father, she embarks a journey to Britannia (YES, ALL HAIL!) with Major Sakamoto Miu to find out more about her dad and his project, the Strike Unit.

Sakamoto Miu. Miu, Miu, Miu. She has a Geass on her right eye. WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT! A GEASS! WHO IS SHE, SOME ILLEGITIMATE DAUGHTER OF/AND/OR LELOUCH?! I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF SPINZAKUS, PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME WASTE MY ALREADY WASTED SANITY. JUST PLEASE.

What’s next, SHARINGAN?!

Okay, let’s leave Narutards out of this shit. No more.

The other girls went off to bare some skin on the other side of the world called Britannia, just for the sake of slack, and fanservice. There were boobs, open-zipper shorts, pettankos, and crotches (except it’s borderline naked, with implications on shaved pubic hair at that). So yeah, you can fap now.

SO YEAH, YOU CAN FAP NOW.

Anyways, the trailer kinda was an expected one. Minafuji wears a Strike Unit, goes to own enemy of the episode, gets ranked and included in the Strike Witches Squadron, done deal. So? Anything other than that and the fanservice? Yeah, right.

  • the only issue I have when people compare fanservice is are they comparable first? frankly speaking adult females vs loli females, while some may hate one and love the other its also quite true the other way around. Fanservice is a subjective matter like art.

and also don’t think people are throwing stuff at Gonzo for this series I mean it’s a fanservice anime with a plot to boot not rocket science and also there are plenty of other fanservice show its not doing anything different maybe the pantless world is too controversal for society but thats about it.

With the fanservice level shown in episode one it is clear they intended to show this level of fanservice, people have been warn rather hooking people than giving people a reason to bitch about.

p.s looking forward to your future blogs on strike witches, more personal thoughts on the episode would be intriguing to read.

  • No, stupid. I’m not comparing fanservice using general opinion. If you’re been here for the past few days, you’ll know I base my thoughts on series USING MY OWN OPINION, and that alone. That being said, fanservice being subjective already applies since I don’t really care what you’re bitching about my thoughts about it. I said what I see, that’s it, I don’t care about anything else.

Second, I don’t really care about the people bitching about GONZO. I didn’t know why you elaborated, but I just pointed that out. If you’ve been to sites and IRC channels and networks where I’ve been, you’ll know what I mean. LURK MOAR.

And like I said, fanservice-wise, I’m scaling this according to my preferences. I took this to myself, and you need not care about it.

  • lol, harsh what seem like a harmless comments somehow spiral into a arbitrary spat of profanity. I do apologise if you’ve taken it the wrong way. This is just how I like to write comments by elaborating my point across, surely it didn’t need to constitute for a totally retaliation on your side. Again I apologised for any misunderstanding because there’s no merit to be gain in such matters.

“If you’ve been to sites and IRC channels and networks where I’ve been, you’ll know what I mean. LURK MOAR”

Now that’s asking too much from someone, expecting someone to walk or breath the same air as you is rather arrogant in trying to prove a point, clearly the internet is wide and large. With the same question are you reading the same discussion board or irc channel I go to? Clearly it won’t be the case. Like every blog on the internet I simply view items with interest on antenna.animeblogger.net nor do I follow any blog specifically, I just happen to stumble upon this one and just posted a harmless comment which you took too close to heart.

“And like I said, fanservice-wise, I’m scaling this according to my preferences. I took this to myself, and you need not care about it.”

While true I only said was the fan service comparable and wasn’t in anyway undermining your taste in fanservice. I see no harm in it, clearly everything within entertainment is based on preference, I agree with you on that.

“you’ll know I base my thoughts on series USING MY OWN OPINION, and that alone”

Maybe I wasn’t clear on this point, I enjoy reading clear and simple but maybe I like to read too much so what I was asking for was more thoughts, more inputs or a more analytical view on the series. I suppose it’s my fault for being unclear on this.

  • Well, you got your point across, I got mine. Now that we’re over with most of it, it’s about time you take my advice and I go my own way.

  • Can’t say I’m satisfied with the reply I got, Meh I’ll just leave it at that. You sure do speak your mind literally but take it as a positive compliment, lol,^^ *run before the lion eats me alive*

  • Pretty much, yeah. I get that a lot, but do I care…
