To Aru Majutsu No Index 2: Innocentius

Whew, getting back on track now. So much for the sudden leap of chapters for Index, manga-wise, though it didn’t really leap as far as Toradora did. I don’t like Styl taking the spotlight that long anyway.

Seriously, the fight this time around was a bit intense, yet also a bit strange, maybe because of me getting estranged on the means of magic. But hey, it’s quite good. There’s still incantations, and the powers wielded are kinda impressive compared to the elementalists on the esper side. Aside from level 5 railguns by Misaka Mikoto, I haven’t seen anybody else wield a powerful 3000 degree Celsius flame like Styl did.

Where’s Airman where you need him?

I know I do Negima for keeps, but to be frank, I don’t know what runic whatevers work for the series’ magic. It seems that there is always a need for “placeholders” in order to meet the requirements needed for magic to manifest. Examples would be Styl’s “runes” for Innocentius and fire magic, and Index’s Angelic Spell of Healing (which will be discussed later on to prevent spoilers for those late ones). Now, there’s still the usual incantations to call out the powers of the magic spell/s in question, but having placeholders kinda makes it unique as to identify a certain spell’s effectivity. This shows up when Toma leaps from his apartment and Innocentius didn’t chase him because the runes didn’t go far from floor where his room is.

There’s also a fine line distinguishing espers from mages. Mages can’t use psychic abilities, while espers can’t use magic. One trying for the other would result in major brain damage or a coma. Meanwhile, level 0, or normal human beings unaltered for psychic means or not knowledgeable in extensive magic would be able to use either ability ONCE. Another try would fry their brains as well.

Shatter magical flames like ice! HOW GODMOD CAN YOU GET?

Kansai Taikai The 4th on 11/1

It’s that time where you can smell the suffocating aggression.

Yup! It’s that time again for us SWR and IaMP people. The tournament for Kansai Taikai the 4th is going to be on November 1st, which might be up on the Japanese IRCnet channel. Depending on how time permits, I might as well tune into if I have the chance. The replays may also be provided by both IaMP and SWR Mizuumi guys, and I might get a copy for posting here as well, so stay tuned.

Schedule Update (Oh God, Finally, FINALLY)!

The end and the beginning of a Decisive Battle.

Finally, after two or three weeks of watching animu, the schedule for fall is complete. In order to squelch some time off trying to do backlog crap about randomly-themed shows, I decided to pull out Macademi Wasshoi! and Kemeko DX from the schedule. Well, that’s two series down, and four more to slave myself with. Apparently the remaining shows sport some kind of interest for a story junkie, and somehow the art catches my eye well enough for me to continue watching, which sums up to the former fact. That being said, the shows Akane Iro Ni Somaru Saka, To Aru Majutsu No Index, Toradora!, and Kannagi will be retained for normal episodic pleasure.

I guess that returns us a bit to regular programming…

Kannagi - Crazy Shrine Maidens 2: Gyokuon Attack!

The episode quickly jumpstarts a few manga chapters in comparison, anime-wise. Like, around two or three to one. This discusses pretty much on how Jin and Nagi have their current ties with each other, aside from individual feelings and acts on certain matters. It’s sad it involved some animal death, especially younglings. But hey, it’s told in a near-life perspective, I guess that’s one given I should understand at the very least.

Jin and Nagi take different stands when Nagi finds a pair of kittens near their home. Nagi insists on taking them in while Jin refuses. Nagi was forced to just leave it alone and let nature handle by itself, thanks to a little persuasion from Jin. Unfortunately Tsugumi came in to burst their bubble. I was worried about Nagi getting too erratic due to various chibi moe portrayal.

PETTANKOGASM!

It’s still under canonical circumstances, though. I mean, even the standing gohei trick was there! Of course that Nagi laugh was kinda like, what, but I like the antics made for it. Jin is slowly starting to surface his Ikuto voice too, which is something I was waiting for. Okay, right, I’m ranting about the voicings again. But it’s good, really! Jin strangling Nagi and Nagi doing those grunting noises? I seriously cracked a vile, insane smile a la Warcueid on that. SERIOUSLY!

Word of advice, JIn: DON’T WEAR IT.

Randomsphere 20: PWNT

Sometimes people get into big stuff before they know anything about the big stuff. Talk about politics, it always has to go by the la-li-lu-le-lo.

And “Hardball” kinda sounds perverted too…

Akane Iro Ni Somaru Saka 3: The Scream Of Bizaare Colors

This is a totally sharp turn of random events for the series now. The introduction for Shiraishi was kinda off its mark, they all get pitted in an abandoned part of the school that looks like a ripoff from Hayate No Gokotu, and it rained headbutts.

Yes! FEAR THE IRON FOREHEAD OF KATAGIRI YUUHI!

The usual schoolday gets interrupted by the sudden absence of Seijiro. Then, Junichi gets a call from the student council president for a special favor. He was chosen by Shiina to enter the decrepit part of the school to find the missing teacher. He’s not alone, though, as Tsukasa and Yuuhi are with him for intense threesome action.

Unbeknownst to Yuuhi and Junichi, the true purpose of Tsukasa’s intervention is not just to do some scoop about the situation at hand, or lend a hand to help on searching. She’s also on the headhunt for Yuuhi and Junichi, observant for some lovey-dovey moments between the two. Aya Shameimaru sense, tingling! She lost them, though, and the whole plan was foiled there and then. Not much Tsukasa action for now, eh…

Toradora! 3: Your Song

Weee! It’s a Minorin ep! A Minorin ep! This focuses mainly on Minorin and her random job antics pursued with optimistic endeavor! Can Taiga and Ryuji keep up?! OH YES, THEY WILL!

WHY SO SERIOUS?

For the past few days, the loudness and shiny personality of Minorin gets noticed by the duo. Softball, work, school, name it, she’ll be at it. Of course, this causes some dere dere convulsions for Ryuji, much to Taiga’s chagrin. The dragon’s gaining lead on the love life genre and the tiger’s not really happy about it.

EYEPOKE FOR EXTREME JUSTICE!

Macademi Wasshoi! 2: Somehow, I’ll Do My Best!

Another random episode full of fanservice, comedy, and random shit everywhere! But hey, I don’t get it. This by far more interesting and more cute than Kemeko DX, yet episode 2 came out, went on raw for a week, and nobody ever bothered subbing it. Even episode 1 (oh wait, screw that, there’s a sub already)?! C’mon guys, don’t fall over the same Kanokon trick again (like I did…)! Then again, like what SHIORICANNON said, I’m a BADASS RAW WATCHER.

Ass.

So, we have Tanarot joining in on Takuto’s pad, with the luxury of viewing her master’s body in full majestic glory (if you were fooled by that shiny gay ass, I feel sorry for you), if not for Suzuka’s timely interventions. Ah, and the elephant? Yes, that’s Takuto’s elephant, what about it? Tanarot saying that a male baby’s 3-p33n is VERY SIMILAR to Takuto’s is also a plus on that.

Takuto… such liliputian measures…

Kemeko DX 2: The Kobayashi Family People

Damn… the backlogs are starting to pile up! Time to reduce number then.

Again, the show never failed to deliver the goods. I mean, hey, I never expected that Kemeko Kick shrieks there, let alone be aghast with the random explosions that puts me at odds with the insanity of the show. Guys, if you ever need a break, or if your want your sanity to break, then I guess this one’s for you.

This focuses purely on chapter 2 of the manga, not to mention they both have the same names chapter and episode-wise. Quite amazing it’s still canon, since the kickoff is not that bad, if I were to compare it. Also, I’m feeling sorry for myself for not noticing much of the OP just because it’s fanservice. Damn Kugyuu character is like having a gasm there. Damn…

JESUS JESUS JESUS KAMI-SAMA!!!

The precious Kobayashi family imouto, Kobayashi Tamako! She’s the all-around household personnel for the Kobayashis. Why? Aside from having an overworked, yet underpaid mom, an AWOL dad, and a useless Sanpeita as a brother, she’s the only one they can rely on when it comes to everyday living. She doesn’t go out to play like her classmates do, she does all the housework that a mom usually does (but hey, if your mom’s the breadwinner, and she doesn’t have time, you’ll have to make do with it, and that’s a given), and she doesn’t even have time to loaf around and do the “girl things” that a normal girl usually does (eherm… I think all you people shouldn’t nose around on this one, save the girls themselves…). That’s a good sense of self-sacrifice. Hoping to die happy by serving a noble family cause ain’t my cup of tea, but pity over it would be very much obliged. And hey, you don’t see that much hopeless determination at such a young age, too!

It’s never too late to become a lolicon, Sanpeita. It calls for TIME-TRAVELING MEASURES!
