Reorganizing Draft Posts

Oops, wrong drawer.

During the course of my blogging lifetime, I left a very long trail of drafts. Serving mainly as repositories of past ideas, I purposefully left these posts unfinished until I can muster enough experience, material, and motivation to complete them. But due to time and my own limitations, I have left the majority of these posts to collect dust in the folder in which they were filed.

New Project: The Shujinko Archive

This personal project is something that I have decided to do long ago. The Shujinko Archive will be a series of posts that will detail various protagonists of anime, manga, and games. Each post will contain basic information about a certain protagonist[1], as well as a detailed explanation of why he or she was chosen for the project.

Try to guess who’s going to be first.

Otaku Married Life in Spotted Flower: Shimoku is Teasing My Genshiken Character Pairings

Stay crafty, Shimoku.

I like Kio Shimoku. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be treated to a ride on the otaku roller coaster that is Genshiken. After that, I promised myself to hop on his next ride, hopefully anticipating the otaku mayhem that will be in store for me. And what do you know, the ride’s actually here.

The Waning of Moe 2: Evolve the Culture, Degrade the Moe

This is going to be bad for your nutbladders. The picture, I mean.

In the previous post, we have focused on how moe’s main demographic, the male otaku, affects moe’s wane in the current trend. We have concluded that in order for moe to flourish again, moe must remain abundant and male-centered. But what really happened that made moe lose its appeal?

The Waning of Moe 1: The Male and The Moe

A moe pic for a moe post. Oh, joy!

Moe has always been a major aspect of Japanese modern visual media culture, because it has greatly redefined the culture’s entirety during the past years. So when one of the great pillars of moe said that moe is slowly waning, a lot of people are sure to ask why.

What Caused Genshiken II to Happen + Character Development in Genshiken

You must be tired of seeing this image, yes? Don’t be.

It was only a matter of time before it was announced. Whoever read “chapter 56″ wished for it. Fans anticipated, others speculated, and a lot dismissed it as something that’s not going to happen. And what do you know, it’s actually happening.

I would be lying if I didn’t say I wished for a second Genshiken right after I read “chapter 56″. I didn’t even give it too much thought, it simply struck me, and the only words I could muster that time was “This is so going to happen.” Now that it’s official, no words can be mustered, but a hanging jaw was given as an appropriate response.
